Those DIY Textile Bobbin Trees

Trees are a piece of cake to make.....textile bobbins, glass (found mine at the Dollar Tree), and a hot glue gun.  Santa is, I believe, supposed to be a tree topper.  I just glued some snow on his cuffs and the brim of this hat and put a flameless tealight under him.  Grain scoop I've had for 143 years.  Well, I feel that old today, anyway.  :)

Another Holiday DIY! (your budget's new bff!)

Chances are you have everything you need already!  A glass (upside down), some lace or ribbon, something to tuck in the bottom ( used red berries), and a candle (I used a red tea light because I liked the silver cup it's in).  I didn't glue anything on or in because I'll change it up for the different holidays.  Some kind of heard for Valentine's Day, and Easter Egg for Easter, a shamrock in March......Now this is some seriously budget-friendly decorating!  Yaaaaay!

What a Buck Buys

So, we have this great local page on facebook called The Basket.  I purchased this lamp for a buck tonight.  Brought it home, painted the shade and hung an ornament from it, and tied some vintage lace around the top of it.  I'm thinking it was a dollar well spent!

Decorating the County Grill...some DIY ideas!

I truly truly truly believe in supporting all small, local businesses.  Mayville has a plethora of small businesses that provide wonderful food, services, and merchandise, and I'm always happy to send people in their direction!  Off the top of my head--Johnson's Pharmacy, The Sweet Spot, The Liquor Store, Uptown Dresser, Home Chic, The Yarn Shop and The Miniature Shop at RBF (Red Brick Farm), CC's near the lake (yaaaay!  that's us!), the printer and the nail salon in the village, the hair salons both here in the village, and Ambiance at RBF,  Haff Acres, 3 Seas Recreation, the art gallery across from RBF, The Watermark, House on the Hill, Chautauqua Marina, Webb's and more!  See?!  One could easily spend a whole day in Mayville, with plenty to do and see!  I spent some time decorating for friends at the newest restaurant, The County Grill, and thought I'd share some pics.  Note:  a must to try!  Their food is wonderful!  Also Note:  these decorations were easy to do--great DIY projects!  Happy Decorating!
